Castonguay, Kathleen Dunphy - Died on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the age of 75.  She was the beloved mother of Catherine Pineyro and Jimmy King, cherished grandmother of Nicholas, loving sister of Mary Truta, William Dunphy, Eileen Reilly, Kevin Dunphy, Coleen Meli and the late James Dunphy, Thomas Dunphy, Roger Dunphy, Ann Neubauer, Michael Dunphy, Patrick Dunphy, John Dunphy, Charles Dunphy and Elizabeth Festa-Davitt, and also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Mass of Christian Burial offered at St. Mary's Church on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 10 AM.  Interment followed at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, NY under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home.

 

Meehan, Mary T. - Died on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the age of 83.  Born in Coolmain, County Monaghan, Ireland.  She was the beloved wife of the late Francis Meehan, loving sister of Paul McKenna & Maureen, his sister Kathleen and the late Francis McKenna, and also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Mass of Christian Burial offered at St. Adalbert's Church on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 10 AM.  Interment followed at St. John's Cemetery, Middle Village, NY under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home.

 

Kolodziejek, Waclaw - Died peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the age of 94.  As a Polish Catholic Holocaust survivor and one of the earliest prisoners deported into Auschwitz, he suffered and survived 5 years of Nazi forced labor, starvation, medical experimentation, torture, and was condemned to death and tattooed with “2254” on his chest.  As a Holocaust survivor he contributed to the efforts of The Polish American Congress to fight misrepresentation of Polish Catholics in WWII and to educate the public that Poles were the primary victims of Nazi persecution in which 3,000,000 Christian Poles were killed. He was awarded the Krzyz Oswiecimski by President Walesa of Poland.  He was the beloved father of Patricia Kolodziejek and Carol Kolodziejek-Garcia, and cherished grandfather of Philip and Andrew.  Mr. Kolodziejek was a Untied States Coast Guard Veteran.  Mass of Christian Burial offered at St. Matthias Church on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 9:15 AM.  Interment followed at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Doylestown, PA under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home.

 

Tasik, Michael J. - Died on Monday, January 16, 2017 at the age of 92.  He was the beloved husband of the late Martina Tasik, loving father of Maureen Tasik and Dennis Tasik, cherished grandfather of Christopher, Holly, Scott, Kimberly, Ashlie, Laura and Michael, and proud great-grandfather of Alexandria, Connor, Kaitlyn and Samantha.  Mr. Tasik was a proud and distinguished United States Army Veteran who served during World War II, a D-Day invasion participant and recipient of a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.  The family would like to extend the option for those who wish to make a donation in Michael's memory to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  Mass of Christian Burial offered at Corpus Christi Church on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 9:45 AM.  Entombment followed at St. John's Cemetery Resurrection Mausoleum, Middle Village, NY under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home.

Bogdanovic, Ivo - Died on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the age of 80.  He was the beloved husband of the late Zora Bogdanovic, loving father of Edi Bogdanovic, Robert Bogdanovic and Ivo Bogdanovic Jr., and cherished grandfather of Ivo, Ivana, Anthony and Marco.  Mass of Christian Burial offered at St. Raphael Croatian Catholic Church on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 10 AM.  Interment followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home.

Sawicki, Josephine - Died on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the age of 101. Giuliano, Antoinette "Nettie" - Died peacefully in her home on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the age of 99.  She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph C. Markiewicz, Frank - Died on Monday, December 26, 2016 at the age of 98.  She was the beloved husband of the late Zofia Markiewicz, loving father of Andrew J.
